Over the past 20 years, Nathanson consultants have applied two primary methods for improving service businesses and reducing costs.  First, we perform each business activity or service in the most efficient and cost effective manner.  We accomplish this through a program of business process improvement and cost reduction initiatives such as vendor renegotiations.  Second, we eliminate the need to perform an activity altogether.   This is accomplished by reducing the demand for a service or eliminating the underlying condition that led to the need for the service.   Together, we call these methods “Service Economics”.  The application of Service Economics leads to lower costs and improved service levels, but it is not easy to achieve.   Nathanson partners and consultants have exploited the principles of Service Economics successfully in a numerous engagements and have pioneered the delivery methods that ensure success.
